3. Driving Record check (traffic offences)
The Driving History Policy provides details of the MFB’s requirements in relation to a person’s driving record. Applicants must comply with these requirements prior to applying.
When submitting an application, applicants are required to detail ALL PREVIOUS TRAFFIC INFRINGEMENTS for the ENTIRE PERIOD they have been driving e.g. all speeding fines, 0.05 BAC etc.
Applicants must ensure that the information provided on their application is accurate. A FULL drivers licence history extract can be obtained by contacting VicRoads directly prior to submitting their application.
It should also be noted that the MFB will assess a person’s total driving history and reserves the right to reject applications for repetitive or highly dangerous offences. This includes a poor driving record over a number of year’s e.g. repetitive traffic infringements.
It is each applicant’s responsibility to read the Prior History Policy and ensure they comply with the policy, prior to applying to become a recruit firefighter.
