Victoria’s fire services launch new recruitment campaign

Victoria’s fire services are putting out the call for more people to become a career firefighter.

The joint CFA-MFB recruitment campaign is part of a plan to grow Victoria’s fire services by an extra 450 career firefighters to serve Melbourne’s outer suburbs and major regional centres.

As part of the push, a new advertisement campaign has been launched, highlighting how Victoria’s dedicated career firefighters prepare, train and work together to protect the community.

The Victorian community can be assured fire services are prepared and ready to protect them in their time of need.

And as our community continues to grow, our fire services must grow as well. That’s why we are calling for more Victorians to become career firefighters.

Even if you haven’t thought about it previously, you could be a prime candidate to join our team.

We will train you for every scenario you’ll face as a firefighter, teach you how to administer care and prepare you to work in a team – all so you can serve the community.

The fire services also want to see more women join their ranks and will continue to work to improve diversity.

In Victoria’s fire services we welcome all candidates from all backgrounds.

We believe our fire services should reflect the diverse communities they serve and that’s why we are actively looking to recruit more women and people from diverse backgrounds into our ranks.

This is the first time both agencies have collaborated on a recruitment campaign, supported by the United Firefighters Union.

The campaign will open on February 12.
