25 Feb 2018
MFB firefighters raced to a house fire in Sunshine North overnight following reports that flames were exiting from the roof and windows.

Crews were on scene at the property in Braim Street within minutes of receiving the call just before 11pm last night.

An aggressive attack was hindered due to the ferocity of the fire, access problems and the structural integrity of the building.

The occupants of the house self-evacuated and were assisted by neighbours.

The fire was deemed under control in under half an hour, however firefighters remained at the scene for some time to make sure the blaze was fully extinguished.

Due to the extent of the fire and the structural issues the building has been severely damaged.

At this stage a cause is yet to be determined.

Police, Ambulance Victoria and the relevant gas and electrical companies also assisted at the scene.
