Suspicious fire in Deer Park

The occupants of a Deer Park home had a lucky escape following a fire which broke out overnight.

The residents were asleep in the Lee Street address when the blaze began just before 4.30am.

MFB crews arrived to find the single storey brick home engulfed by flames.

Firefighters donned breathing apparatus to get inside and ensure everyone was safely out before turning their attention to the fire.

Crews managed to get the incident under control in 20 minutes.

The fire is believed to be suspicious and Victoria Police is investigating.
