MFB crews responded to reports of a car fire under a carport on Millford St just after 3:30am this morning.

A caller stated that a bedroom of the attached home was also under threat.

On arrival, firefighters found the car well alight, with the fire having spread into the bedroom of a 10 by 10 metre single storey brick home.

All of the home's occupants had self-evacuated.

Shortly after, it was found that the fire had also advanced into the roof space of the home, causing the bedroom ceiling to collapse.

The side of a neighbouring house also suffered some fire damage.

The blaze was announced under control at 4:14am.

The cause has been deemed suspicious and Victoria Police are investigating.

Fire crews remained on scene for the rest of the night.
