Fire investigators are examining the cause a suspicious fire in Meadow Heights.

MFB and CFA crews were called to the Ellam Court home about 9.30pm last night after several neighbours called Triple Zero.

An oncoming CFA appliance reported seeing smoke rising; the call was upgraded by MFB Somerton Officer.

MFB and CFA crews arrived to find the single storey house well alight with flames through the roof.  The occupant’s whereabouts were not known and once the crews had knocked down the flames three breathing apparatus crews commenced a search of the building.  A thorough search revealed no one inside the property

The fire was declared Under Control after 28 minutes.

Police and Ambulance were also on scene assisting firefighters.

Fire Investigators were called to the scene this morning, where they encountered an angry dog that wouldn’t leave the property.

They bribed the dog with biscuits before he was captured by a dog handler and removed from the scene, allowing the investigation to proceed.
