Resignation of CFA Chief Officer Joe Buffone

I have known Joe for more than twenty years and feel privileged to have worked with him.

Highly respected and skilled within the emergency management sector, he operated at the highest levels of the sector and made a significant contribution to the safety of all Victorians both as CFA Chief Officer and as a member of the State Control Team.

As a Chief Officer the highest priority we have is the safety of the community and that of our firefighters.  I know from all of my dealings with Joe Buffone that these were the most important considerations he had as an emergency services leader.

I would like to wish him well in his future endeavours.
