14 Nov 2019
Four people had a lucky escape this morning when their smoke alarms alerted them to a fire in their Coburg home.

MFB firefighters were called to the blaze in Champ Street at 5.40am to find the roof ablaze.

Thanks to working smoke alarms, the household, including an elderly woman, were able to safely evacuate.

Firefighters worked quickly to contain the fire to the bathroom and get it under control within 10 minutes.

The cause of the fire is believed to be electrical.
