Fire crews have battled a large house fire in Sunshine West this morning.

The MFB were called to the house fire on Wright Street about 9.15am.

The first crews arrived to find the single storey brick house was fully involved in fire.

Three occupants had exited the house safely before MFB arrival.  It is believed they were alerted to the fire by a working smoke alarm.

It took approximately 10 minutes to bring the fire under control.

The presence of asbestos was identified and procedures were put in place to ensure the safety of firefighters and the public.

The damage is severe and estimated to be up to $200,000.

The cause of the fire will be investigated by the MFB Fire Investigation Unit. There were no reports of any injuries.
