01 Feb 2020
A number of Triple Zero (000) callers alerted MFB firefighters to a restaurant on fire in Carlton just after 11am this morning.

When initial crews arrived on scene to Grattan Street they were met with smoke issuing from a large flue on the roof of the building.

Crews quickly donned in breathing apparatus for protection against the smoke, entered the premises and located the fire in the commercial stoves of the restaurant.

The incident was declared under control in less than 30 minutes.

Firefighters used thermal imaging cameras to check for hot spots to ensure there was no fire extension to the rest of the property.

No injuries were reported.
