Four residents have had a lucky escape following a garage fire in Keilor Downs overnight.

MFB crews were called to the home in Munich Drive about 4am after a call to Triple Zero (000) raised the alarm.
Four people were safely evacuated including a woman who had been sleeping in the burning garage.
Crews managed to get the fire under control within eight minutes of arriving on scene.
Firefighters were concerned to find there were no working smoke alarms present.
There was also a large number of items accumulated in the garage which presented a high fuel load.
Firefighters used thermal imaging cameras  to search for any hot spots.
The fire has now been fully extinguished.
MFB is liaising with the local council to arrange a building inspector to ensure the building is safe.
Firefighters are urging residents to ensure they have working smoke alarms throughout their house and any areas where people sleep.
