Approximately 30 firefighters responded to a house fire in Heidelberg West early on Monday morning.

Multiple callers to Triple Zero (000) reported flames coming from the windows of the Timor Parade house just before 4:00am.

MFB crews arrived on scene in five minutes to find flames coming through the roof of the house.

Fortunately all occupants had self-evacuated before crews arrived.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus attacked the fire from outside the house, before moving inside to aggressively work on it.

They brought the blaze under control within 24 minutes.

Specialist MFB fire investigators are working to determine the cause.
