Northcote home theatre destroyed by fire

A Northcote office and home theatre were destroyed in an early morning blaze today.

Crews responded to the incident at 3:47am.

The Darebin Road building is of brick and tile construction, measuring six by 10 metres, with an office located on the second floor. The building and contents were quickly engulfed by fire.

Crews worked hard to stop the fire from spreading to neighbouring properties.

The fire took 30 minutes to bring under control.

Seven appliances with approximately 18 firefighters attended the incident. Breathing apparatus was in use.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Damage is believed to exceed $100,000.
