Mother and Son burnt in Heidelberg West house fire.

An eight-year-old boy and his thirty-year-old mother both suffered minor burns to their hands and were treated at the scene by Ambulance Victoria and transported to hospital.

The damage to the building was confined to the rear section and roof space of the house of some eighteen squares. Smoke alarms operated and alerted the mother to the fire which was brought under control in twenty five minutes.  
‚ÄčThe cause of the fire in the single storey brick veneer house will be investigated further.
