Moorabbin Airport Exercise

An emergency services training exercise was held today at Moorabbin Airport, to assess the response if a plane were to crash into a fuel tanker.


Firefighters from MFB and CFA, paramedics from Ambulance Victoria and St John's Ambulance, Victoria Police, airport staff and local council workers all took part.


The situation involved four victims - one deceased pilot, and three injured people, including the driver of the fuel tank.

Firefighters worked quickly to remove the injured people from scene, before dousing the plane and fuel tank with foam.
