The owner of the house has escaped uninjured from the premises after working smoke alarms alerted him of the fire.
The fire was contained to two bedrooms at the front of the premises. Both the bedrooms contents where severely damaged by fire including the roofing in the rooms.
The remainder of the premises has been damaged by heat, smoke and water.
The fire was under control in 10 minutes and breathing apparatus was used in the operation.
The cause was an electrical malfunction.
