Prahran nightclub fire

MFB firefighters have attended a premises in Greville Street, Prahran overnight after receiving an alarm call from an installed sprinkler system.

On arrival, fire crews found the building involved in fire on the upper level and requested further appliances. 

A combination of a quick response time by firefighters and the installed sprinkler system contained the fire to a single room on the first floor of the two storey brick building. 

The building housed a nightclub, which fortunately was closed at the time of the fire. 

No injuries have been reported. 

The incident was under control in 25 minutes. 

A neon light transformer has beem deemed as what started the fire. 

Police and Ambulance also assisted MFB at the incident.
