A 24 year old male suffered slight burns to his hands and feet whilst trying to extinguish a fire in his home this morning.

The man was treated at the scene by Ambulance Victoria personnel and no further injuries were recorded.
The fire in the single storey weatherboard home caused approximately $300,000 damage and was brought under control in 30 minutes.
The other two occupants of the house self evacuated safely. MFB firefighters had difficulty completely extinguishing the blaze as it had penetrated the roof space.
A watching duty will continue overnight, damping down hotspots. Specialist investigators will attend in daylight hours to determine a cause.
The male with slight burns was later transported to hospital with smoke inhalation
