More than 30 firefighters have responded to a house fire in Kealba this morning, following Triple Zero (000) calls just after 6:30am.

MFB crews arrived at the Calverton Road home within five minutes and found the building well involved in the fire.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the house to ensure all residents had been safely evacuated, and rescued one person through a window.

MFB crews administered oxygen to the patient, and quickly worked to extinguish the blaze.

The fire was declared under control less than 25 minutes after MFB’s arrival on scene.

The two occupants were handed into the care of Ambulance Victoria paramedics for treatment.

Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria are assisting at the scene.

The exact cause of the fire is unknown, but will be investigated.
