MFB and CFA crews have worked together to extinguish a large factory fire in Kilsyth.
About 8:30am, several calls were received for a fire in Shelley Avenue. On arrival, firefighters were confronted with a fire in a single storey structure comprising of three factories.
MFB and CFA Crews worked well together to contain the spread of fire to an area of 20x25m affecting one factory in the complex.
This factory, including its contents, has been severely damaged by fire, while an adjoining factory (15x20m) has been damaged by heat and smoke. The remaining factory has suffered no damage.
LPG Cylinders caused some concern at the height of the fire.
The fire was under control in 30 minutes, with five MFB pumpers and three CFA appliances on scene.
The MFB Fire Investigation unit will establish the cause. The blaze caused an estimated $250,000 damage.
