11 Aug 2017
Firefighters have battled a high fuel load at a Bentleigh East house fire this afternoon.

Multiple Triple Zero calls were received for a house fire on Centre Rd, which occurred just after midday.

On arrival crews found the single storey brick residence well involved in fire at the rear.

Access was difficult due to a high fire load within the yard and house, so access was made through the fence and neighbouring property.

It took approx. 45 minutes to bring the fire under control.

The 15 by 20 metre residence is extensively damaged at the rear and firefighters have to remove belongings methodically from the house and wet them down due to the quantity of belongings.

This will be a protracted incident to completely extinguish.

Fire Investigators will likely attend to determine a cause.
