Firefighters protect neighbouring properties from Greensborough house fire

MFB and CFA firefighters have battled a single storey house fire in Greensborough this evening.

Multiple triple-zero calls were received and extra appliances were dispatched on the information received.

Some occupants from surrounding homes reported that they evacuated.

Crews arrived on scene in four minutes and found the weatherboard house totally involved in fire.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus conducted an internal search of the property to make sure no one was inside.

The property is believed to be an unoccupied house. 

The fire was brought under control in 30 minutes however crews will remain on scene for some time to make sure there are no remaining hotspots. 

Firefighters also protected surrounding homes from the intense heat generated from the burning structure.

The cause is yet to be determined and fire investigators will attend.

Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria are also on scene assisting the MFB and CFA.
