Firefighters arrived to the Tyquin Street property to find smoke issuing from the brick and weatherboard home.

Wearing breathing apparatus, crews conducted a search of the house and confirmed it was unoccupied at the time of the fire.

Approximately 30 firefighters worked to knock down the blaze, which was declared under control in less than thirty minutes.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage, but will be investigated.
