Fire at Fitzroy North house under demolition

MFB firefighters have responded to a fire at a house in Fitzroy North following multiple calls to triple-zero.

Due to the information received and time of day, extra appliances

Crews arrived quickly on scene and found the front quarter of the unoccupied single story house, that was under demolition, fully involved in fire. 

Firefighters in breathing apparatus searched the property to ensure no one was inside. 

Fire crews also protected surrounding properties with hose lines and an aerial appliance (teleboom). 

The fire was brought under control in 20 minutes.

The fire has been deemed suspicious. 

MFB will be in attendance for most of the morning. 

Crews were assisted by Police and Ambulance Victoria.
