Fatal Camberwell house fire

A man has died following a house fire in Camberwell this morning.

MFB crews were called to the single storey weatherboard house in Kingsley Street about 12.30am following numerous calls to Triple Zero (000).

Firefighters in breathing apparatus rushed inside to search for occupants and located one deceased man inside.

He has yet to be formally identified.

It took 20 firefighters almost 40 minutes to get the fire under control.

The fire is not being treated as suspicious and MFB Fire Investigators are currently on scene investigating the cause.
