MFB crews were called to the property on Warrigal Road at 11:30pm last night.

A triple-zero caller stated the fire originated in the kitchen and something was taken outside which had set the grass on fire, a further caller said an alarm was operating.

Crews arrived quickly and found a single storey house involved in fire, extensively in the roof area.

Firefighters in breathing apparatus contained the fire to the structure involved.

An aerial appliance (Teleboom) also assisted crews to extinguish the fire.

The fire was deemed under control within 30 minutes.

All eight occupants managed to safely evacuate the house without injury and firefighters conducted further searches to make sure no one was still inside.

A cause is yet to be established.

Police and Ambulance Victoria assisted at the scene.
