MFB is currently in attendance at an accident on the Monash Freeway involving a semi-trailer.

The truck has collided with the construction barriers on the freeway and has punctured its fuel tank containing 400 litres of diesel, spreading debris all over the freeway.

The incident is located inbound, approximately 400 metres west of the Warrigal Road entry.

Specialist Hazmat trained fire-fighters are attending to mitigate the diesel spill.

The incident will be ongoing for a number of hours and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
