10 Jan 2019
More than 20 firefighters worked quickly to contain a bungalow fire in Burwood this afternoon.

Crews were alerted after several callers dialled Triple Zero and arrived at property on Farleigh Ave in five minutes.

Upon arrival, crews were met with a single storey attached bungalow that was well alight. Firefighters worked quickly to stop the fire from spreading to the adjoining property and brought the fire under control after 20 minutes. Asbestos was identified in the structure and decontamination procedures have been implemented.

There were initial reports of a person inside the property but thankfully all occupants evacuated.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
