MFB tackles house fire in Macleod

Fire brought under control in thirty minutes

Just before 7.30pm this evening crews received fire calls to a house fire in Somers Avenue, Macleod.

Arriving on scene they found the double storey weather board house fully involved with flames through the roof.

The occupant had self evacuated, and firefighters in breathing apparatus conducted a search of the premises to ensure that no one else was inside the property.

The fire was quickly brought under control by the swift actions of firefighters just before 8pm.

Seven appliances and over twenty firefighters tackled the blaze.

The cause of the fire will be investigated in the morning.
