Aggressive firefighting tactics by the first MFB crews on scene at the Roza Café, stopped the large marquee fire from spreading further into the two-storey building.

A total of 22 firefighters from six fire trucks were required to contain blaze at the Roza Café, in Sydney Road on Sunday ) afternoon (9/12/12.

The large semi-permanent marquee structure, at the rear of the property, was well alight and strong blustery wind conditions had pushed the fire further into the material walls and wooden flooring by the time MFB crews arrived.

The marquee contained low level seating, wooden booths, and Hookah pipes. All of which has been destroyed. The premise was vacant at the time of the fire.

The fire has been deemed suspicious and police have been advised. MFB Fire Investigators and the local council will be attending on Monday morning.
