CFA assisting, firefighters on scene for some time

MFB and CFA firefighters are currently tacking a large blaze in a paper yard at Pratt Industries, Campbellfield.

Crews received the fire call just after 3.45pm and arrived on scene in under five minutes.

Personnel have been evacuated and firefighters in breathing apparatus are currently attacking the fire which is a 30 metre by 20 metre stack, contained within concrete walls.

Heavy machinery is currently pulling the stacks apart to help with the firefighting effort and crews will remain on scene for some time until the fire is under control.

Due to a large amount of smoke and poor visibility local trains have been stopped on the Craigieburn line.

Seven appliances and over 25 MFB firefighters are working with CFA colleagues to control the blaze.
