Thirteen appliances and nearly 50 firefighters are tackling the fire

MFB is presently fighting a large factory fire in Campbelfield, with the assistance of a couple of neighbouring CFA crews.

MFB received the fire call just before 11.30pm, and on arrival the factory, measuring approximately 100 x 30 metres, was well alight with flames through the roof.

Crews in breathing apparatus made access and mounted an aggressive internal attack on the fire to contain it.

The factory is of concrete tilt slab construction and some of these have moved as a result of the fire, making it unsafe to stay inside, so crews have withdrawn to fight the fire from a safe area externally.

A community warning has been issued for the surrounding area due to the smoke, and roads have been closed. Motorists are being advised to avoid the area.
