MFB crews tackle blaze in Walsh Street, Coburg

The fire was brought under control in ten minutes

Last night just before 9pm, MFB firefighters received calls to a fire at a single storey house in Walsh Street, Coburg.

Arriving on scene crews quickly extinguished the fire, and discovered an elderly resident in the kitchen at the rear of the property. 

The occupant had been cooking and a fire had broken out. She had attempted to extinguish the blaze but fell in the process and sustained some injuries. 

Ambulance Victoria was in attendance and the resident was transported to hospital. 

Seven appliances and twenty five firefighters attended the blaze that was brought under control in just over ten minutes.
