15 Jan 2020
MFB crews were called to Pascoe Vale Road shortly before 10:30am, following several Triple Zero (000) calls reporting smoke issuing from a house.

Firefighters arrived at the Jacana home within 5 minutes and found two residents had self-evacuated.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus attacked the fire with hose lines and used an aerial appliance to prevent the spread of fire in the roof space.

The fire was declared under control less than one hour after crews arrived on scene, and one person was handed into the care of Ambulance Victoria paramedics.

At this stage it is not known what caused the fire to start, however investigations will take place.

At the height of the incident there were five firefighting appliances on scene, one rescue unit, one aerial appliance, plus support and control units.
