MFB called to blaze at house in Downing Street, Sunshine North

Local houses evacuated as a precaution

Just before 4am today, MFB received calls to attend a house fire in Downing Street, Sunshine North.

Arriving on scene in under six minutes, they found the vacant property fully alight, and firefighters in breathing apparatus immediately began to attack the blaze.

As a safety precaution nearby houses have been evacuated and MFB teams are working to bring the blaze under control.

Firefighters will remain on scene for some time.
