MFB attends large rubbish fire at Somerton

Crews still on scene and large amount of smoke present

MFB crews were called to a large fire behind a factory on the Hume Highway early this morning at 2.36am, near Baldwin Drive and Patullos Lane.

Firefighters in breathing apparatus are tackling the blaze to a large pile of rubbish behind the factory and there is a lot of smoke still present.
Crews and appliances from both MFB and CFA are expected to be on scene for some time so please avoid the area.
