MFB attends boat fires in Mordialloc overnight

Fires have been deemed suspicious

At 4.20am this morning a Victoria Police patrol unit witnessed a fire on vessels at Pompeis Pier, Mordialloc.  

MFB crews and an appliance from the CFA arrived on scene within minutes to find two vessels well alight beside the jetty.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus attacked the fires and MFB also dispatched a Fireboat to assist.

The fires were quickly brought under control.

17 firefighters and six appliances tackled the fires, which have been deemed suspicious.
