MFB attends apartment balcony fire in the CBD

Crews arrived on scene in three minutes

Just before 2pm today MFB received a fire call to an apartment building in Spencer Street.

Arriving on scene in three minutes crews sighted flames and smoke billowing from a balcony on the twenty ninth floor.

The building was evacuated and road closed by police as firefighters in breathing apparatus quickly brought the fire under control.

Over 30 firefighters and ten appliances were on scene.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
