Fire severely damaged single-storey house

MFB crews were called to the Mayfield St address for a single-storey weatherboard house fully ablaze. Additional appliances were requested by the first crews on scene and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus conducted a search of the building, fortuntately no occupants were home at the time.

It took 30 minutes for the 20 MFB firefighters to bring the fire under control and the fire caused an estimated $120,000 of damage. The property was severely fire damaged at the front sections of the home, with smoke and heat damage to the rear sections.

The fire has been deemed suspicious and Victoria Police are investigating further.
