MFB - Appoints New CEO

The Metropolitan Fire Brigade has announced the appointment of Nick Easy as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Nick is currently the Executive General Manager, Port Capacity, Port of Melbourne Corporation.  He has been with that organisation since October 1998 and previously worked in local government in planning roles. 
Nick was the senior executive responsible for the channel deepening project – a major Victorian infrastructure project that was completed ahead of schedule and delivered $250 million under the project budget of $969 million.  He has acted in the Chief Executive role on a number of occasions.

Nick has a Bachelor of Applied Science Planning (RMIT 1988), Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental Management (Deakin 1994) and has four children with his partner Chantal.
MFB Board President Neil Comrie AO, APM said the Board was delighted to have secured a senior and experienced executive of Nick's calibre for the critical position of CEO.
“Nick will bring a strong record of leadership, innovation and achievement to the MFB and his outstanding planning and project management skills will significantly enhance our capacity to deliver on major projects,” said Mr Comrie.

Mr Comrie thanked Shane Wright for his professionalism, dedication and commitment to the MFESB as acting CEO for the past five months.  Shane will resume his position as Executive Director, Emergency Management and Chief Fire Officer.

Nick Easy will take up his appointment on 6 June.
