Lucky escape for Doncaster residents

Residents of a home in Doncaster made a safe escape after their home caught fire this morning.

MFB firefighters were alerted to the blaze on Rose Street at 9:03am with the first crew arriving in six minutes.

The single story home was producing a significant amount of smoke and flames. The fire had engulfed one bedroom, the hallway and had commenced penetrating into the roof space. More than 20 firefighters tackled the blaze and brought it under control in 25 minutes.

Crews remain on scene extinguish remaining hot spots.

MFB specialist fire investigators will work to determine the cause of the fire.
