14 Dec 2017
MFB firefighters have had a busy evening tackling a house fire in Camberwell.

Crews were called to the Green Street home about 8.15pm following several calls to Triple Zero (000).

Firefighters arrived to find the single storey weatherboard home ablaze, with fire spreading into the roof space.

Luckily, the four occupants of the home had safely evacuated, possibly due to smoke alarms sounding.

During the incident the roof of the house collapsed, but firefighters continued to battle the blaze externally, bringing it under control within 40 minutes.

The cause of the fire will be investigated.

Firefighters are expected to remain on scene for some time.
