Incident in Box Hill

MFB firefighters are currently on scene at an incident on Watts Street and Whitehorse Road in Box Hill.

It is understood a crane, which was transporting a tub of concrete, dropped its load into a pit where three men were working about 12.20pm.

MFB’s specialist Urban Search and Rescue, Heavy Rescue, and High Angle Rescue Technicians are on scene assisting.

Two men have been removed, with one sustaining critical injuries and the other minor injuries. The third man has also been retrieved. 

Ambulance Victoria paramedics, Victoria Police, SES, and Worksafe are on scene.

The investigation is going to be a protracted incident and motorists are advised to avoid the area, and keep roads clear for emergency services.  

As of approximately 3pm this afternoon MFB firefighters are working to hand the scene over. Roads are expected to be reopened shortly.
