More than 20 firefighters have contained a fire that broke out at a home in Deer Park this morning.

Crews were alerted to the incident on Stoke Street just after 8am after a passer-by called Triple Zero (000) reporting smoke and flames from the roof of a house under renovation. The first crew arrived in four minutes and was met with the whole roof space engulfed in flames and called for additional resources.

Firefighters made quick work to prevent the blaze from spreading and the incident was declared under control after 25 minutes.

Thankfully no one was home at the time and there no reported injuries.

MFB’s specialist Fire Investigators will work to determine the cause of the blaze.

CFA also assisted at the scene.
