House fire in Vermont

MFB responded to several calls regarding a fire at a single-storey weatherboard home in Carinya Rd at 1:15pm this afternoon.

The first appliance arrived on scene in just over five minutes to find the 10 by 20 metre house fully involved.

Upon arrival, crews were advised that there may someone inside the house but did not locate any occupants.

Firefighters in Breathing Apparatus conducted an aggressive fire attack and initiated asbestos contaminated procedures.

The fire was brought under control at 1:41pm.

The roof of the property was starting to collapse.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

Police and ambulance crews also assised on scene.
