House fire in St Albans

MFB firefighters were called to a fire at a home in Carawah Retreat at 10:13pm last night.

Crews could see smoke while enroute and arrived within five minutes to find the fire going through the home's roof.

Firefighters in Breathing Apparatus worked hard to contain the fire to the rear section of the building.

The fire was declared under control within 28 minutes.

The blaze was deemed suspicious and Victoria Police will investigate.

Ambulance Victoria were also on scene.
