House fire in Altona North

MFB crews were called to a house fire in Altona North just before 10pm this evening, following several Triple Zero (000) calls.

They arrived on scene within seven minutes to find the front rooms of the house alight with flames extending to the roof space.  

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus for protection worked to stop the spread of the fire, which was threatening neighbouring properties.

The incident was brought under control within 16 minutes.  

Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria are on scene assisting.

The home has been extensively damaged and at this stage it is not known what caused the fire.
