House catches fire in Laverton

Several Triple Zero (000) calls were received after a house caught fire in Laverton around 7pm.

MFB crews arrived at the property on McNamara Road within 6 minutes to find smoke and flames issuing from the house.  

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus conducted a search to confirm no occupants were inside at the time.

The fire was brought under control within 13 minutes.

Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria are on scene assisting, with one person receiving treatment from paramedics.

Crews will remain on scene for some time.

The cause of the fire is not known at this stage and will be investigated.
