High Angle Rescue Team on scene at Swanston Street

MFB firefighters co-responded to Emergency Medical Response incident on Swanston Street in Melbourne alongside paramedics, after several calls were made to triple zero (000) just before 12:30pm.

MFB’s specialist High Angle Rescue Techniques team were called in to assist with accessing the patient after a medical emergency occurred on a ledge outside of the building.

There are currently six firefighting appliances on scene and approximately 20 firefighters from Eastern Hill, West Melbourne, Carlton, and Richmond Fire Stations.

This is likely to be a protracted incident, firefighters and emergency responders are expected to remain at the scene for some time.
