Grass fire in Laverton North

MFB crews are currently responding to a grass fire on Dohertys Road in Laverton North, following several Triple Zero (000) calls received just before 1pm.

Eight MFB appliances and approximately 40 firefighters were on scene at the height of the incident and managed to stop the spread of the fire from impacting a nearby factory.

The incident was declared under control at 1:18pm.

Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria are on scene assisting.

A community warning was issued advising the public to keep the roads clear while emergency services respond.

MFB will remain on scene for some time.
